Happy first week of October!

We just finished Chapter 1 on Multiply and Dividing Decimals. This week we will begin Chapter 2 which will cover Multiplying and Dividing Fractions!

This week in Social Studies we'll be continuing our unit on Mesopotamia and the 1st Civilizations.  We've had a handful of assignments due in the last couple of weeks so please be sure to check the Parent Portal!  The following assignments will be due this week:

Math News ~ Week of September 23rd

I cannot believe that we are already beginning our fourth week of school! 

6th graders have been doing an excellent job in Math so far! I have been impressed with their hard work effort! 

We have been working on multiplying and dividing decimals and will move into talking about exponents and multiplying and dividing by powers of 10 this week. We will end the week with our Chapter 1 Test.

Math News ~ Week of September 16th

Hello!

We are off to a wonderful start to Math this year!

In class, we have been working on operations with rational numbers. Throughout this chapter, we will focus on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals and fractions.

Students have spent an impressive amount of time on our IXL online math program this year! They have been working hard during class time, I/E time, and at home.

So far 6th-grade students have answered 7,493 questions in IXL and have spent 53 hours and 53 minutes practicing math skills. I have already seen huge gains in their math understanding!
