Social Studies News Week of: Oct. 28th

This week in Social Studies we'll be wrapping up our unit on Ancient Egypt.  We will spend a couple of days reviewing in preparation for our unit test on Thursday.  We will also have a couple of assignments due this week:

Due Monday: Ch. 3 Section 5 Assignment
Due Wednesday: "Reading Like a Historian-Egyptian Pyramids" Graphic Organizer & Final Claim Paragraph due

On Friday, we'll be introducing our next unit on Ancient Greece. 

As a reminder, the end of 1st quarter is on Friday!  All missing work is due!

Math News~ Week of October 28th

Hello! Students have been working hard on solving problems with Ratios and Rates. We will take our Chapter 3 Test this week and start Chapter 4 which covers Fractions, Decimals, and Percents.

After School Study Club

6th Grade After-School 
Study Club


Starting with Monday, October 28, there will be a designated place for students to
get homework done from 2:50-3:30.  There will be a 6th grade teacher available
to answer questions and to supervise students that are working. Late bus passes
will be available.  Students MUST have class work to do or a book to read. 
Students will not be allowed to stay if they are just wanting to talk with friends, play
on a computer, or do other things.  


Students must report to study club promptly at 2:50 and be prepared to explain to
the teacher what work they are planning to do- and also come with any materials
they will need.  Students will be expected to remain in the Study Club classroom
until 3:30 unless they are walking home and get their work done early.

Social Studies News Week of: Oct. 21st

This week in Social Studies we are presenting our "Interview an Ancient Egyptian" projects where students were researching a part of Ancient Egyptian culture and preparing a script where they were simulating an interview with a character from Egypt.  We're also starting the Key Terms for our Egypt Unit in Section #4 of our Social Studies Notebooks. 

We also have a few assignments due this week:

Grades are constantly being updated on Infinite Campus.  Please check your student's grades and missing assignments!

Halloween Dance Friday 10/25

On Friday, October 25 there will be a Halloween Dance in the 1-8 building gym sponsored by the Parent Club

Elementary dance: 6:00-7:30 (students must be accompanied by an adult)
Middle school dance: 7:30-9:00 (students must check in/out)

$2 admission, or $1 with a food pantry donation item

*Food/drinks/glow items available for purchase!
