Social Studies News: Week of 2/1

This week in Social Studies we will be finishing up our Map Skills review by discussing the different types of maps in our atlas and getting practice using our atlas to read a variety of different maps.  Then, we'll get into our 1st unit which is on the First Civilizations.  We'll have a few assignments that will be in class assignments this week.  They'll be attached into the student's Social Studies notebooks in the first section.  You will also see those assignments in the Infinite Campus Portal.

Math News Week of 2/1

After finishing up our algebra units this week, we are on to geometry next week! This chapter we will be identifying the differences between geometric figures, learning about angle measurements and relationships, and analyzing properties of triangles, quadrilaterals, and polygons. Here is a list of upcoming assignments.

Social Studies News: Week of Jan. 25th

This week in Social Studies we'll be setting the class expectations for the semester since students have just switched classes.  We'll also be reviewing map skills since we start out most units with analyzing how geography has impacted the place we're studying.

The assignments we have due this week are:

Wed.--Book & Atlas Tour & "Getting to Know You" Assignments will be due by the end of the block today.

Fri--World Locations & Facts Assign. and Using Different Maps Assignments will be due today

Students will have time in class to work on all of these assignments.

Math News Week of January 25th

This week we will wrap up our final unit focused on algebra. Our Chapter 7 Test will be on Friday, January 29th. This assessment will focus on functions (writing them as equations, in function tables, and graphing) as well as writing, solving, and graphing inequalities on a number line. We will spend the week reviewing and practicing these concepts. Here is a list of upcoming assignments and activities!

Science News: Week of Jan. 25th

I am so excited to begin science again with the other half of the 6th graders! This week, we will learn about different types of science, qualities of a scientist, lab safety, and begin our first unit on the Metric System.
