6th Grade Band News

The 6th grade band students are progressing well this quarter.  With a new seating chart and new folder assignments they and are just about ready to get their music for their first concert.  The concert is Tuesday, December 18 at the Middle School.

Most students are practicing regularly, but if you haven't been hearing much practice at home, please encourage them to do that or help them set a time to practice.  Many students need a little extra help from Dad and/or Mom to help them find time to practice regularly.  Regular practice is the key to their continued success.

Field Trip Reminder

The 6th grade field trip to the UW-Madison campus for the Science Festival is this Thursday.  The weather is expected to be sunny, but chilly.  Please help your child dress appropriately for the weather.  They should wear comfortable shoes for walking as well.  All children will need to bring a bag lunch with a beverage unless it was marked on their permission slip form that they wanted to order a bag lunch through the school lunch program.  Students do not need any bags, backpacks, or cash for the trip, and we encourage them to leave any valuables at home.  They will not be attending any regular classes on Thursday since the trip takes the entire day.  We will return to school in time for the regular dismissal and bus route.  If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Rogness at jrogn@poynette.k12.wi.us

School Fundraiser Forms due Tomorrow

If you took part in the school fundraiser, the order forms and money are due back tomorrow.  Thank you for your support!

Field Trip Chaperone List

Mary Kennedy, our coordinator for the 6th grade field trip to the Science Festival, shared with me that we had an unprecedented number of volunteers wanting to chaperone.  Due to limited bus space, she ended up needing to reduce the final number.  Here is what she gave me as the final list of who we are counting on to join us.  If you had volunteered and are not on the final list, we wanted to express our thanks for your interest, and we hope that you will consider volunteering for other opportunities in the future!  If you have any questions, I would encourage you to contact Mary Kennedy directly at mkenn@poynette.k12.wi.us or 608-635-4347 ext. 173.
