March Book Orders

Class Code - P69TG
Order Due Date -  03/08/18

Dear Families,

I want your child to be a successful reader—and for that, I need your help.

When children choose their own books to read for pleasure, they enjoy reading more and spend more time doing it. The more your child reads, the better they will do in school and in life.

Scholastic Book Clubs flyers are made for you and your child to shop for books your child will love to read. Each month, the flyers are filled with trusted, excellent quality, age-appropriate books chosen by Scholastic for prices as low as one dollar.

Plus you will be helping our class when you order: Scholastic matches each order you place with FREE BOOKS for our classroom to share.

Thank you for helping your child become a successful reader.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Rogness

Please place your online order to me by Thursday, March 8.

Two ways to order:

1. Go online to: scholastic.com/newparent
Look up my name: Julie Rogness
Or enter our Class Code: P69TG
Follow the instructions to place your order online by: Thursday, March 8.

2. Check off the books you want to order for your child and return the flyer (students have access to fliers in the classroom) to me with a check to Scholastic Book Clubs by Thursday, March 8.

Social Studies News Week of: Feb. 12th

This week in Social Studies we'll be finishing up our Mesopotamia Unit.  We've got 2 assignments due this week, both on Wed: our Mesopotamia Culture Poster and Ch. 2 Sec. 5 assignment.  These should be able to be completed in class.  We should be having our unit test on Friday, Feb. 16th.  Students will be getting a study guide that will help focus their studying on Wednesday.

Parents: * Ask to see your student's Social Studies notebook.  We attach completed assignments into our notebook as well as notes in the first 3 sections of their 5 subject notebook.  The 4th section is reserved for Key Terms from our current unit and the 5th section contains our Daily Journal Questions.  Reviewing their SS notebook will give you a very good idea how they're doing so far this quarter.  Also, grades are being posted on Infinite Campus, so be sure to check in with how they're doing on there too!

Pencils

The pencil supply that we had from the beginning of the year has been depleted.  Please check with your child/student to see if they need more pencils to get them through the remainder of the school year.  Many students are resorting to using colored pencils or markers, which is not an ideal situation.  Thank you for your attention to this matter!
